Twitter Chat Chaos

I was a little late to the #ISTETEN Twitter Chat because of the time difference and daylight savings and joined the conversation at about question five. By the time I got into the hang of how the chat worked, it was almost over. The question was: How might teachers prepare for technology-enhanced future learning (or classrooms) ? Bing, bing, bing the responses were flying in, non-stop. Before I could gather my own opinion on the topic, someone commented about the use of Twitter chats.

I laughed as I read the comments about how stressful, chaotic and fast they are when you aren’t used to using them. I was finally able to leave a comment. Later I reflected on my experience with Twitter chat, and the suggestion of using it for technology-enhanced classrooms. I saw a lot of benefits of using it, but also the limitations for someone unfamiliar with chats, or doesn’t regularly use Twitter. While I wasn’t able to contribute to the conversation, I learned a lot reading what great things educators are doing with technology around the world. My goal is to try a few more #ISTETEN chats and become better at the chat thing.
